# Privacy and account deletion

> How CalBudget handles privacy expectations, manual-first planning, and account deletion.

CalBudget is designed around manual-first planning. Users can build a budget forecast without connecting bank credentials.

## Privacy principles

* Bank login is not required for core planning.
* Manual data entry is supported on every plan.
* Imports are reviewed before affecting the calendar.
* AI recommendations are opt-in.
* Account deletion is available from settings.

## Account deletion requirements

When a user deletes their account, the flow should:

* Confirm intent before deleting.
* Delete user-owned planning data.
* Avoid requiring customer support to complete deletion.
* Clearly explain that deletion is permanent.

## Data the app stores

Depending on usage, CalBudget may store:

* Account and transaction data
* Categories and bookmarks
* Recurring rules
* Imported statement rows
* Subscription metadata
* Support tickets
* Email delivery events
* Advisor conversations and actions
* Shared access memberships
