# Platform map

> A customer-facing map of CalBudget: calendar, transactions, accounts, reports, Advisor, billing, settings, mobile, and support.

CalBudget is a budget calendar. You add accounts, income, bills, subscriptions, debt payments, and planned spending on the dates they affect your balance. CalBudget turns those dated items into a daily forecast so you can see tight spots before they happen.

## How CalBudget thinks about money

CalBudget plans by date. The question is not only whether a month ends positive. The important question is whether the account stays safe on every day between now and the next income date.

The forecast starts with an account balance. Income raises the balance on its date. Expenses lower the balance on their dates. Recurring items create future occurrences so your next months remain useful.

## What CalBudget is not

CalBudget is not a bank, credit counselor, investment advisor, tax preparer, or legal advisor. It is an informational planning tool that helps you organize dates, balances, and decisions.
