Bookmarks are reusable transaction templates. They are best for common items that are not predictable enough to be recurring.

What bookmarks save

A bookmark can store:
  • Title
  • Amount
  • Account
  • Category
  • Notes

When to use a bookmark

Use bookmarks for:
  • Common grocery trips
  • Gas purchases
  • Cash withdrawals
  • One-off transfers
  • Repeated discretionary spending
Do not use bookmarks for fixed bills or paychecks. Those should usually be recurring transactions.

Applying a bookmark

When creating a new transaction, select a bookmark to fill the form. The date remains the selected calendar date. CalBudget tracks bookmark use count and last-used time so commonly used templates can appear first.
