Shared budget access lets you invite another person into your CalBudget planning workspace. It is designed for partners, helpers, and trusted collaborators who need to see or help manage the same calendar.

Requirements

Shared budget invites require CalBudget Navigator access from the budget owner. The invited person must sign in or create an account using the invited email address before accepting. For security, an invite can only be accepted by the email address it was sent to.

Roles

Shared access supports three roles:
  • Viewer can view shared budget data.
  • Editor can make changes where editing is allowed.
  • Admin has the highest shared-access role for the invited workspace.
Choose the lowest role that fits what the person needs to do.

Send an invite

  1. Open the shared access area in CalBudget.
  2. Enter the invitee email address.
  3. Choose a role.
  4. Send the invite.
CalBudget emails the invite link to the invited address. The invite appears as pending until it is accepted, expires, or is revoked.

Accept an invite

The invited person opens the invite link, signs in with the invited email address, and selects Accept invite. After accepting, they can open the calendar and work with the shared budget according to their role.

Change or revoke access

Review active members and pending invites regularly. Revoke access when someone should no longer have budget access. If someone needs a different level of access, change the role or send a new invite depending on the controls shown in your account.

Shared access and Navigator

Shared access helps multiple people work from the same calendar forecast. Navigator can then help explain low-balance dates, bill timing, and next actions from that shared planning context. Navigator responses and action plans are still informational planning help, not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.
